Suncorp selects two more startups to join its Digital Incubator Program

Following Suncorp’s first round of its Digital Incubator Program, two more start ups have been successful in applying to join the three-month program at Suncorp’s Digital Labs in Brisbane.

Their selection follows a two-day boot camp which culminated in a series of pitch presentations by applicants, to a panel of judges including some of Suncorp’s senior technology, banking and insurance executives.

Two successful fintech startups have been invited to come and collaborate with Suncorp on new and innovative projects, under the Program which aims to bring ideas in the fintech sector to life in a supportive and well-resourced environment.

Athenix was founded by Lachlan Teale and Austin Wilshire to help individuals and self-managed super funds improve their investment decision-making through innovative use of data and machine learning.

The judges selected Athenix due to its significant potential to expand into the B2B market, where Suncorp’s Digital Labs team can provide guidance and support on this expansion.

The second successful participant is my business manager, founded by Ian McManus, which seeks to improve financial literacy and deliver management accounting insights for small business owners.

The judges saw opportunity to input into the platform design in order to scale this business, as well work with Suncorp’s small business banking team, making my business manager an ideal fit for the Incubator Program.

The Program is an exciting way for fintech startups to validate their ideas and refine their business models over a three-month period. Participants will have access to mentors, designers, APIs and experts across a range of technology and business topics.

More details on the next round of applications can be found on the Suncorp website.
