Suncorp supports Queensland Premier’s flood appeal

Suncorp Group CEO Steve Johnston said while the insurer was doing everything possible to help customers as they start the recovery process, the company wanted to do more to support the region.

“Suncorp is a proud Queensland-headquartered company and the state’s largest insurer, and we know first-hand the devastating impact extreme weather events have on the community,” Mr Johnston said.

“Suncorp has been protecting homes, businesses and livelihoods in Queensland for more than 100 years and when disaster strikes Suncorp is right there helping Queenslanders pick up the pieces and recover as quickly as possible.

“But the economic impacts from these weather events can be severe, they can destroy lives and livelihoods and take an incredible emotional toll on people’s wellbeing. Recovery can also take months if not years.

“We supported the Premier’s flood appeal after the 2022 east coast floods, and we’re supporting it again for the Far North after ex-TC Jasper.

“We’re also encouraging other corporations to dig deep and support the five charities involved to give as much help to the community as possible.”

Suncorp’s donation will be split across five NGOs involved in the appeal, the Australian Red Cross, The Salvation Army, UnitingCare Queensland, St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, and GIVIT.
