Suncorp today announced the expansion of its national automatic teller machine (ATM) network with the purchase of 56 ATMs located in Westfield Shopping Centres throughout Australia.

The ATMs, acquired from Citibank, are located in high traffic locations in Westfield Shopping Centres. This includes 33 in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, seven in Queensland, five in South Australia, two in Western Australia and two in ACT.

David Foster, group executive retail banking, said the acquisition of the ATMs was a strategically significant move for Suncorp's banking business, in line with its 3-year strategy to progressively expand its reach, distribution and market presence in Australia.

"The acquisition of an existing network of ATMs has allowed us to further increase our presence outside Queensland in a cost effective manner. All 56 of the ATMs have been re-branded and are now available as full-service Suncorp ATMs, free of charge for our banking customers," Mr Foster said.

"The acquisition compliments our 3-year branch expansion plan which will see new branches opened in key growth areas".

"Our national growth strategy is strong with new branches to be opened in Victoria and Western Australia this financial year, as well as several new branches in Queensland areas".
