Suncorp Superannuation Chairman to retire

Suncorp Portfolio Services Limited (SPSL) has announced that Chairman Mr James (Jim) Evans has retired from the SPSL Board, effective 30 April 2019.

With Mr Evans nearing the maximum period within Suncorp Superannuation board tenure guidelines, he has accepted another board role in the financial services sector.

Mr Evans has been a member of Suncorp Superannuation board for close to 10 years and spent the last three years as Chairman.

Ms Jan Swinhoe will act as interim Chairman of SPSL while an extensive search process is undertaken.

Commenting on his decision to retire from the Board, Mr Evans said β€œIt has been a privilege to serve on the Board of SPSL, to help Australians with their investment, superannuation and retirement needs.”

Ms Swinhoe has worked in the financial services sector for more than 30 years and joined the SPSL Board in August 2013. She is currently the Chairman of the SPSL Trustee Investment Committee and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Ms Swinhoe added: β€œI would like to thank Jim for his decade of service to SPSL, during a period of significant regulatory and legislative changes. I look forward to continuing to work with the Board as we continue to serve our members and secure their financial future.”
