With lockdowns impacting millions of Australians, Suncorp acknowledges the restrictions will create both a financial and emotional strain for many and it continues to offer its support.

Suncorp Bank’s assistance continues to be tailored for individual customers’ circumstances and include deferral of scheduled loan repayments, moving to interest-only repayments and waiver of fees for early withdrawal of term deposits. Bank customers can also access funds in their mortgage offset accounts, reduce loan repayments to the minimum levels or discuss restructuring their borrowing.

Suncorp Group CEO Steve Johnston said the practical measures, introduced in 2020, would provide immediate financial and emotional relief for customers so they can remain protected.

“It’s been an incredibly challenging 18 months for all Australians, but we know that many households and businesses will be doing it tough with these latest restrictions in place,” Mr Johnston said.

“Since early last year, our people have been helped more than 85,000 customers who have been impacted by COVID-19, and while everyone’s situation is unique, we know some short-term relief can go a long way to provide some relief, while ensuring they remain insured.
