The awards celebrate outstanding achievements of those in the industry, designed to benchmark best practice and encourage the continual raising of standards, leading to a better experience for those impacted by personal injury or disability.

EGM Personal Injury Claims, Michael Miller said not only is this program delivering better outcomes for our people, but at the same time it is ensuring we can deliver best practice return to life outcomes for customers.

“PIC is in the business of building Personal Injury professionals, and we are focussed on attracting, growing and retaining our talent. This award is a clear celebration of the great work our people are doing to deliver best practice capability strategies that ultimately enable best in class claims performance.”

Suncorp PIC has a targeted Graduate program designed to deliver optimal business exposure to graduates, by rotating them through different parts of the value chain. Outside the on-the-job learning, the program also offers further development opportunities including qualifications, coaching and mentoring to help graduates build skills for their current and future roles.

There is a focus on accelerating career growth by building leadership, professional and technical capability, while creating a rewarding and engaging place for our people to thrive in their careers, with the ultimate goal of converting them into meaningful, permanent employment.

Claims advisors in this space require a highly specialised skillset, rooted in compassion and empathy, given the sensitivities of working with injured people. We want to build Graduates who are passionate about our industry, and embrace the role we play in returning people back to work and life.

Second year Suncorp Personal Injury Graduate, Mikayala McNabb shared her experience with the program, noting the variety has given her insight into business operations.

“What I have enjoyed the most about the graduate program is the opportunity I have had to rotate across a wide range of teams including Product, Customer Solutions, License Management, Capability and Policy and Regulatory Development.

The beauty of rotating is that I have developed a network of people across the business, had the opportunity to learn and develop key skills and understand how the business fits together.
It is rewarding to know that my work everyday is contributing to a better experience for our customers.
