Ian Hammond

Ian Hammond has been a director of the Group since October 2018. He is Chairman of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Risk Committee.

Ian brings to Suncorp extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, and expertise in financial reporting and risk management. He has deep experience across the insurance, banking, wealth management and property sectors, and a keen interest in digital and technology trends.

He is also Chairman of Mission Australia.

Previously Ian was a non-executive director of Perpetual Limited, Citigroup Pty Limited and Venues NSW. Ian spent more than 35 years at PwC, including 26 years as a partner. He was lead partner for several of Australia’s major financial institutions and was previously a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board and the International Accounting Standards Board.
